Wisdom teeth have no problem in the mouth but if they impact other teeth then they need to be extracted. They can also be extracted if it is not easy to brush and floss the this is because they might bring about gum disease and can lead to tooth loss, cavities and decay. The dentist will teach you what to expect during and after the removal of the wisdom tooth

What to expect before extraction

You first need to meet our oral surgeon, the surgeon will conduct an examination and will check if the wisdom tooth is affecting or impacting other teeth in the mouth. Tell the surgeon about your medical history so that they will know the type of anesthesia to use and during this time you can ask any question you might have about the extraction procedure.

What to expect during extraction

The tooth extraction procedure takes about 45 minutes and is not a painful procedure for you will be under anesthesia. The oral surgeon will sedate you using sedation procedures like IV sedation, oral sedation. In this sedation, you can be numb during the extraction procedure or you be asleep. After settling the sedation medicine, the surgeon takes the extraction tools out and begins the extraction procedure. In some cases, the tooth might be too tightly held and during extraction, your gums may get hurt. If they have hurt the surgeon stitches the gum and the stitch dissolves later on after some days. The surgeon then lines up the gum line with gauze so that it can soak any blood that will come out of the extraction area

After extraction

Take care of the mouth to avoid getting infections gargle salty water and also mouthwash. Our dental team will extract the wisdom tooth if it impacts other teeth
